Hi! I’m Kim.

I’m grateful you’ve stumbled into my corner of the internet. A few years ago, I came back to reading after a thirteen year reading slump caused by my favorite series of all time, The Hunger Games. I impulsively bought a matching Kindle with my friend one night, read Fourth Wing, and I’ve been reading fantasy romance and romantasy books since.

Why is my blog named Burner Kindle? Just like you'd use a burner phone for calls you don't want traced back to you, sometimes a girl needs to read about dragon shifters and fae princes without judgment. This blog is a space where we can obsess over morally gray love interests and steamy fantasy scenes. Because sometimes you need a burner device for your book habits, and I'm here for all of it.

Lastly, I do get some books for free as Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) in exchange for an honest review. Those reviews will have a disclaimer on them as a reminder, but I always give my honest thoughts and opinions.

Spice Rating

I follow the scale on Romance.io for the spice rating. Readers rate the book based on spice after they finish the book. As a result, I think this collective rating is more reflective of the consensus rather than my personal, subjective rating scale.

Scale

  • 1 🌶️ Glimpses & Kisses (no sex on or off page)

  • 2 🌶️ Behind closed doors (intimate scene occurs but reader is not present)

  • 3 🌶️ Open door (at lease one scene with reader present, language not descriptive)

  • 4 🌶️ Explicit open door (at least two scenes or acts with plenty of detail)

  • 5 🌶️ Explicit and plentiful
