Quick Thoughts: My Roommate is a Vampire was so, so much fun. It certainly isn’t perfect but it made me genuinely happy for the short time I was reading it, hence my five star review. Highly, highly recommend if you're looking for something light, funny, and romantic.

My Roommate is a Vampire Review
Jenna Levine strikes again! The second book in this series, My Vampire Plus One, was one of my favorite reads of last year, so when I spotted My Roommate is a Vampire while browsing at the library, I snatched it up.
This one was so, so much fun. I read this in one sitting and was at a loss as to what to read next when I was done. It certainly isn’t perfect but it made me so genuinely happy for the short time I was reading it, hence my five star review.
Setup
The setup of the story is pretty simple. Frederick is a vampire who just woke from a hundred-year sleep and is looking for a roommate with the secret intention of using them to help him learn about modern society. He finds Cassie, a struggling artist who agrees to move in mostly because rent is cheap.
Characters & Romance
I was a little lukewarm on our FMC Cassie. I didn’t dislike her, I just didn’t find her all that interesting. Frederick stole the show. He was incredibly sweet and just so earnest. He was also hilarious. It’s hard for a book to make me laugh, but I was laughing out loud in almost every scene with him. There is something about a male character who is out of touch with modern society that just works for me every time.
I was also obsessed with the little notes Cassie and Frederick leave each other throughout the book. Every part of the romance was adorable.
Ending
My one small gripe is that the ending and the solution got a little too ridiculous. It didn't bother me much, since the whole book is meant to be light and unserious anyway.
Highly, highly recommend if you're looking for something light, funny, and romantic. It was the perfect palate cleanser between my usual heavier fantasy reads.
