It's that time again! The moment I sit down to see what's landing on shelves and start (over)filling my TBR. September 2026 is a big month for romantasy and fantasy romance, so I've rounded up 11 new releases I can't stop thinking about.
Tone-wise, there's a lot of range here: gothic courts, a demon-hunting academy, an angels-versus-demons war, and even a chaotic road trip through a corporate version of hell. Trope-wise, expect enemies to lovers, slow burns, marriages of convenience, reluctant chosen ones, and plenty of found family. You'll find both adult and young adult titles, from buzzy debut authors to returning favorites like Rachel Gillig, Adalyn Grace, and Penn Cole, whose Kindred's Curse Saga finally gets its finale.
For every book below, I've included the publication date, the series and where it falls, the tropes to expect, and a link to preorder or grab a copy if it catches your eye.
So grab your favorite reading beverage, get comfy, and let's dig into the romantasy and fantasy romance releases coming out in September 2026.

Aisling Cathedral is in ruins. Rodrick Myndacious, Bartholomew, and Maude Bauer are rumored to be dead—and the king has taken Sybil Delling as his bride. To show off their union and solidify his power over Traum, Benji proposes a series of tournaments throughout the hamlets. Captive and drugged, Sybil remains determined to vanquished him as she once did the Omens, even if she destroys the kingdom’s faith—and herself—in the process.
But then a mysterious knave rises to the top of the lists, a man with no name and no memory who may just be Sybil’s ticket to undoing Benji’s power. For in a land where stories repeat themselves, where a king can prove as cruel as a god, the only way to truly destroy the Stonewater Kingdom’s faith is to save it.
