I follow the scale on Romance.io for the spice rating. Readers rate the book based on spice after they finish the book. As a result, I think this collective rating is more reflective of the consensus rather than my personal, subjective rating scale.

1 🌶️ Glimpses & Kisses (no sex on or off page)

2 🌶️ Behind closed doors (intimate scene occurs but reader is not present)

3 🌶️ Open door (at least one scene with reader present, language not descriptive)

4 🌶️ Explicit open door (at least two scenes or acts with plenty of detail)

5 🌶️ Explicit and plentiful
